TORONTO, ON — January 16, 2025 -The Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council is pleased to welcome Siemens Healthineers, an international medical technology company, as its newest member organization. Siemens Healthineers plays a critical role in the Canadian and international nuclear medicine industries, delivering life-changing medical imaging and diagnostic technology that are pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare.
Headquartered in Germany, Siemens Healthineers’ technologies are utilized in over 70 countries worldwide, including across Canada. The CNIC team recently had the opportunity to witness this technology firsthand when we visited London’s Victoria Hospital, and saw its new Siemens Healthineers-produced PET/CT machine during our tour of the hospital’s Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Department. Seeing this innovative technology firsthand solidifies the importance of the work that Siemens Healthineers leads globally.
Siemens Healthineers’ technologies help physicians across Canada diagnose patients quicker, allowing treatments to begin sooner, and with a better understanding of the disease the patient is facing. The impact of this work is remarkable and life-changing for patients around the world and their families.
“Siemens Healthineers is pleased to join the CNIC, a group dedicated to advancing nuclear medicine and medical imaging innovation in Canada and beyond. At Siemens Healthineers, we are committed to transforming care delivery,” said René Boyer, Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, Diagnostic Imaging, Canada, Siemens Healthineers. “We are excited to collaborate with the CNIC to pioneer new frontiers in nuclear medicine and improve patient outcomes across the country.”
“I’m glad to welcome Siemens Healthineers to the CNIC as our newest member organization and look forward to collaborating with them in support of patients across the country,” said James Scongack, Chair of the CNIC. “As we work towards our goal of doubling isotope production in Canada by 2030, we are also committed to working with our members, including Siemens Healthineers, to expand access to this life-changing medical imaging and diagnostic technology to ensure that all Canadians can access the care they need, when they need it.”
